I'm competing in the WTSDA tournament in August-- I'm really excited but CRAZY nervous already! Still have a whole month from today, but hey it's never too early to be scared . . . lol. It's gonna be fun though. Training was awesome today, best three hours I've had in a long time :D

Writer's Block: Busting Blocks

It's blockbuster season in movie theaters. What was the last movie you saw?

View other answers

Last movie I saw was X-Men: Origins . . . it was entertaining, but not what I expected :/ It was just like they wanted to throw every character they could into it and not give any of them any screen time.

However, Hugh Jackman was looking especially hot . . . and it was a fun couple hours.

And tomorrow is my birthday again . . . I have to admit I'm not looking forward to it much! My birthdays have a way of turning into catastrophes! They never go well. I'm not sure what the plan is tomorrow, but I'm thinking it might be a good idea to pretend it's just another day. Maybe I'll go to training-- that can't go wrong!

Speaking of-- there's a tournament in NJ on August 8th, I'm thinking about registering :D It sounds like a really fun thing to be a part of! I have to find out some more about it first, though.

Haha, I just found out my next recital is on May 30!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's at least one, more like two, weeks earlier than I thought it was! YIKES.

Our second show went really well yesterday, I'm oretty happy for now (until I see the video :P). A few people I know were there, that was a cool surprise afterward. It's a relief for it all to be over, I won't miss regular classes. But I can't wait to get back to Wyalusing next year.

I'm only on three days of work this week, which is odd. All day shifts, of course. I could use some more hours at this point but I'm just gonna be happy for the break :) After these past few weeks/months, it'll be nice. I have a lot of work to do at home anyway, so I can get some of that done. And I can go back to training!

This Tuesday I'm going to check out a dance studio in Scranton-- I can't wait!

Things are looking up a tiny bit . . . I see a light at the end of the tunnel, and I don't think it's hellfire.

First dance recital was tonight! I can't believe it's that time of year again! The show went really well. It could always be better, and I doubt any dancer is ever satisfied with their performance, but it was good :) My students did AMAZING-- I'm so proud of them! I'm gonna miss them all so much, I can't wait for next year :( Whatever else I end up doing (still haven't decided), I'll definitely be teaching again!

Preparations for my other studio's recital are going well, I think we'll be ready by June if everything keeps on the way it is. Both of my dances are really nice. I'm supposed to do a solo, but I STILL haven't figured out what to do! Haven't had much time to work on it, but it's hard to decide anyway. Hopefully once these classes are over I'll have a little more free time . . . we'll see.

It's May . . . means I probably only have another month or so of work before my surgery. Still have mixed feelings about that whole thing, but mostly I can't wait to actually get something done! I'm hoping to go back to work for a little afterwards, but it all depends on how it goes this time.

Training is still consistently awesome . . . I got my stripe on my green belt a couple weeks ago! I had to miss a lot lately, partly because of the recital but also cause my hand's been giving me a lot of trouble, that sucked. Hopefully I'll get a full week in next week!

Sick kitty (Whiskers) is doing MUCH better! She had a tumor that died and had to be taken off, and they think she may have diabetes :( But she seems to be feeling pretty well. I've had her for around 15 years now, I'd be devastated if anything happened to her! We've been having terrible pet-times lately anyway, it has me worried for them :( Mine seem to be just fine, but I'm trying to keep them upstairs anyway and away from the sickness that's been around.

--

Training is awesome! I'm testing again on April 4th, I'm SO excited! I can't wait for the dance season to be over, I'll spend all my free time at the dojang. I've gotten to help with the new students some lately, I love doing that, it's fun :) I'm learning a lot, too, I feel like I improve with every class.

Going to the doctor for my hand soon, I'm gonna call tomorrow and make an appointment. I'm really nervous.

Sick again, naturally . . . this time I'm forcing myself to the doctor. Hopefully. I haven't actually gotten there yet! I already missed two days of work, and one of training :( Which depresses me. I've had to miss a lot lately, I hate it.

Things are going a little better overall, Aaron is much better, though it's not sure how well he'll ever actually get. He tuned my guitar tonight, so now it's not quite so painful to hear me play! Compared to him, maybe, but oh well.

Dance is going better, now that I've gotten back into regular classes (not counting yesterday when I arrived an hour late for an hour-long class. . .) I'm enjoying it again, for the most part. Teaching is a trial, but also a joy :) I'm a little disappointed with what the 3/4 year olds get to do in the show, I think they're capable of A LOT more. They're a talented little bunch.

I've been asked to do a solo in one of the shows, not sure if I can but I'll try. It could be fun, I just don't know if I'll have the time to get something ready. We'll see. I'm pretty good at making time appear out of none.

Back to work Wednesday-- I never thought I'd be so happy to have three day shifts! I kinda had a fight with a night-shift worker, and I'm not really looking forward to going back into that. Not going to be fun. Don't regret it though, sometimes you just have to stick up for yourself!

My hand is still steadily getting worse, it's about where it was to begin with, I think. I'm torn between dreading surgery and everything it brings (time off from training, more therapy, the possibility that it doesn't work), and wishing I could do it tomorrow! A part of me just wants to get on with it already.

One of my cats is sick :( Not really bad, but I still worry cause she's pretty old now. And I always worry more after we lose one, which we did the other week. It's so unfair that they live for such a shorter time than we do.

Ugh, this sucks so bad! Things just keep getting worse and worse . . . I don't even know what to do anymore! I want to take a years vacation from reality.

I got my green belt in TSD a week ago, that was exciting :D First real test I've taken, and I think it went well! It was actually fun.

It was short-lived excitement, though, cause Aaron had to go to the hospital afterwards, he got frostbite on his hands. It's REALLY bad and now he has to go every day all morning for treatments, maybe for a month or more. They think he'll make a complete recovery but no one knows for sure. Luckily his left hand will be okay cause he pretty much lives for his guitar! He's taking it really well, too, I'm proud of him :) I know how much all this doctor-stuff sucks!

My hours have been more than cut in half at work. I'm used to full-time, up to 40 hours a week, and now I'm lucky if I get like 18. It's kinda nice to have some more time otherwise, but I really need the work now, I haven't gotten caught up since Christmas and I want to save up some money too. I'm really hoping to go back to the doctor again soon, I don't know how much longer I can take my hand being like this! I'm willing to be experimented on now :P And if I have surgery again I don't know how long I'll be out of work, and I only have a couple months of teaching left too, that's about $80 a month less. So I'd like to get in as much as possible now.

Dance isn't going great, things have just changed so much there! I can't believe how much everything there used to mean to me. I still love to dance, but I wish it could be somewhere else. I'm going back to classes with Ryan hopefully, but I have to pay for those, and it adds up, so I'm not sure.

So my new home is definitely the dojang! Everything kinda goes away when I step through those doors. I'm getting really excited/nervous about everything happening in March, our evaluation and all. SCARY.

I finally got to talk to Tori the other day-- I miss her SOOO much, even more than I thought I would. I would give anything to go over to her place and watch movies and try to make whipped cream by hand again!

I won't go into my boy-troubles, but suffice to say I have a few of those too! LOL, first it was the wrong one interested, but now it's the right one . . . and somehow that's a whole lot worse!

I don't want a fan-club. :P

In other news: everyone should watch "Dr. Horrible's Sing-A-Long Blog" because it is genius. I'm obsessed with Neil Patrick Harris, he's so awesome :D

Christmas is coming much too fast . . . I've never been so unprepared! I haven't gotten anything for anyone in the family but Sierra (and I'm still hoping that arrives in time!), and if I can get out again I think I have an idea for Aaron. It's been a crazy season, between work and sick and all these dance/karate classes/shows! Nuts. But hey, Sierra's coming home in a few days and I wouldn't put that off any longer! Only . . . three days now!!!

I got to stay home from work today because of the snow :D That's always fun, lol. I don't mind McDonalds so much, but it isn't my favorite place to be. And Mom and Kim were off today, so it was a good day for it, I never see either of them anymore.

Tori left for TX yesterday. I got to spend all Tuesday night with them, which was nice, but I wish we could have gotten together more. I was just way too busy with work :( It's weird knowing they're gone. Crappy timing, too!

Not-So-Controversial Survey

Taken from Rick :)

Do you have the guts to answer these questions and re-post as The Controversial Survey?

Yeah, I've read through, it's not that bad :P

Would you do meth if it was legalized?

Probably not, meth isn't even that great

Abortion: for or against it?

Completely against it.

Do you think the world would fail with a female president?

If the world hasn't "failed" already-- and that's a matter of opinion-- then it won't no matter who is president! But no, I don't think gender has anything to do with it.

Do you believe in the death penalty?

I believe in it, but not with our system. Too many falsely convicted.

Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?

I DO! It's ridiculous.

Are you for or against premarital sex?

Don't really know

Do you believe in God?

Yes, I do

Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?

Heck yes! What if I want to marry a woman someday? :)

Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?

Yes a thousand times over

A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?

If she has family willing to accept the responsibility, as obviously she isn't capable of it.

Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?

Don't even get me started on the reasons why it should . . .

Should the war in Iraq be called off?

Called off? Um, if such a thing were possible, then yes

Assisted suicide is illegal: do you agree?

It does depend on the mental health of the person

Do you believe in spanking your children?

It never hurt me

Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?

I'd do it for a lot less than that.

Who do you think would make a better president? McCain or Obama?

Obama!

Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answers?

There's not much to judge. . .

Soup Kitchen Fundraiser

Soup Kitchen Variety Show/Fundraiser! I did Sierra's "Stairway to Heaven" solo, and although it didn't come close to the way she performed it, I think I did all right :)

It was kind of weird performing it-- amazingly enough with all the shows I've been in, this was the first time I've ever been on the stage by myself! And doing that dance . . . it was creepy :P lol

SPN Season 4

Supernatural season 4 isn't too bad so far, I'm glad to say :) A little too much Dean-focus for me, but I'm getting used to the 'religious' storyline, which I wasn't fond of at first. I'm glad to find there are good supernatural beings, but I think they're taking it a little far. Castiel IS awesome though, I already love his character. The last episode was cool-- Meg and Hendrickson in one ep and you can't go wrong! Although I would have liked to see some other characters, maybe learn about some past hunts we haven't seen. But hey, you can't have it all :) I hope they don't drag things out so much this season, I'd like to actually find out things throughout the episodes, and I'm hopeful it'll be a good comeback from last season (couldn't get a whole lot worse *crosses fingers*). :D

Movie night :)

Stayed home from classes tonight, having a movie night with Kimberly and Dad. Police Academy right now, it's fun :) I got kicked in the head last night at karate class and I'm not doing so well, so I figured I'd take off tonight and maybe be well enough to go tomorrow :D Hopefully! Master Robinson is letting me take all three classes now and I have a lot of catching up to do!

It was a really fun class, though, we did sparring and I got to fight for the first time. I lost 3-2, but it was a close match. I got paired with Jake which was cool, cause we get along great. He felt really bad about kicking me-- and he got deducted for it, so it was okay :D lol, he's pretty new at it too. Master Robinson was pretty happy with how we did. Then we had boxing drills for the rest of the night, which was fun. Three hours worth of classes! And then contemporary with Ryan right after :D

Ron called last night and said since I'm teaching now I get to take classes for free. I'm not sure how many and I hope that's not their new form of paying me, but if not it'll be cool! I really want to take up pointe again, and if I don't have to pay I'll take on a couple other classes too :) It was fun dancing with Ryan again last night, the class is huge compared to last year! It was cool having so many more people. We're doing a dance for the Christmas Show and that should be really good, it's a nice looking group of dancers.

First Day

Today was my first day teaching classes at the Wyalusing studio-- and it went REALLY well! I have three classes, 3/4 year olds, 5/6 year olds, and 7/8 year olds, all ballet, and nine kids altogether today, which was a nice amount. The five 3/4 year olds were fun! They were all really good though, just little :) I had a much better time with them than their previous teacher, along with their tap teacher! No one could quite believe it. It took a little while to get used to again, I haven't taught a dance class in over two years now, but it wasn't too long till I was back in the swing of things :) It's nice to be the real teacher this time, instead of just assisting. Big difference! I'm excited, I love doing this, and all the kids seemed to be having fun, which is always a bonus! :D

Belts and Surprises

I tested for my orange belt yesterday! After quite a few weeks of different dates and misplaced/forgotten paperwork, it finally happened! LOL. I was nervous, of course, but it went great. Only myself and two other people were testing so we did it during regular class time, which was cool. Made it a little less scary :P It was basically a normal class, we did all our blocks and kicks, one-steps, hyungs, etc., with some new stuff added in, while Master Robinson watched and made notes. I was the only one out of the three of us who didn't get any corrections, so that must mean something good :)

He brought out our new belts halfway into class or so, so that got me excited, and at the end he gave each of us ours :D Mine was too big, which made for an awkward but funny few minutes in front of everyone waiting for a smaller one to be brought out! Master Robinson shook my hand and said thank you, and he seemed really pleased :) And everyone clapped and bowed :D It was really cool. Probably the biggest/smallest accomplishment I've ever had, in a weird way!

--

Today Sierra and I went out shopping with Mom, nothing too exciting, just getting stuff we all needed. But it was a nice day out, we had lunch together and had fun out. And, I found out something interesting . . . I was a twin! There were two of us in the womb, and the other one died after only a couples weeks. It's so strange to know now, Mom never mentioned it before. And she was pregnant not long before that as well. So I have two siblings that were never born. The things you find out twenty years later . . .

Ugh, first ballet class in over three months . . . It didn't go too bad, but I definitely need some work, I'm already so unused to it compared to the other classes I've been taking. Still really sore from karate and contemporary yesterday, so that didn't help!

There's a "master class" with a Russian style teacher Friday, I'm not sure if I'm going to take it. I'd like to just for the experience, but I don't know if it'd really be worth the money. I'm not exactly at my best dancing-wise right now, and I'd be nervous as hell!!! LOL. We'll see. I don't want to regret not taking it later.

Master Robinson said I'd be testing for my orange belt soon-- that's awesome! I've only been taking classes for three weeks. Still not sure exactly when, but he seems really happy with how I'm doing. I love it there SO much.

Jul. 24th, 2008

Sierra should be coming home this Sunday! This has definitely been the longest three weeks I've had in a while . . . We'll have almost two months after she gets back, though, so that's cool.

I've taken a few Tang Soo Do lessons while she's been away, and it's SO awesome! I love it already, definitely sticking with it. And it's really fun to be doing something on my own-- I've never actually gotten to do that! Especially since Sierra's leaving and all, it's nice to have something she's never done with me. And it's just cool to have something that's mine.

Still not sure what I'm doing about dance classes this year . . . I want to take my Cecchetti exam again, but otherwise I'm not too interested with classes there. I'll probably go back to ballet only. I'd like to take Kimberly's jazz, but I don't think so. Hopefully I can take Ryan's contemporary-- cause that's like the best class ever :D

Anyhoo, I was just bored and wanted to update :)
